The Forbes annual list has placed Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, action heroes Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar as well as cricketer M.S.Dhoni among the top 100 highest-paid celebrities in the world.

Floyd Mayweather tops the list, earning an astronomical amount of $300 million in 2015. Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, two of Bollywood’s biggest names, are tied for the 71st spot with earning of US$33.5 million each. Another Bollywood actor also forms the list, namely Akshay Kumar who comes in at the 76th spot with earning of US$32.5 million.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, placed at number 82nd with with an earning of $31 million. Dhoni shares the spot with prolific musicians Britney Spears and Eminem as well as with athlete Neymar, who also raked in the same amount.

This is what Forbes had to say about the inclusion of international celebrities, such as Bollywood stars in the list.

“Instead of using US-centric power metrics, we’re simply ranking the world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities, regardless of nationality.”

Forbes said: “The result is a more accurate reflection of the current entertainment landscape, where Bollywood’s biggest stars (Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan) earn more than some Hollywood A-listers (Leonardo DiCaprio and Channing Tatum)”.

No other Bollywood celebrity or Indian has made it to the list other than Amitabh, Akshay. Salman and Dhoni. With India’s film industry expanding and making news on an international basis, it is only befitting that certain Bollywood stars are among the 100 highest paid celebrities in the world.

Among the 100 highest-paid celebrities in the world list are included some prominent global artists such as Dr.Dre, Jay-z, Beyonce, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Katy Perry, One Direction, Tom Cruise, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Howard Stern. Kudos to artists from the Indian film industry for making the list!
