ISLAMABAD: Civil Society lit the candles and placed flowers on the third death anniversary of Pakistan Peoples’ Party(PPP) Salman Taseer in Islamabad, ARY News reported.
Remembering Salman Taseer, people gave him tribute and asked to punish his murderer, who wasn’t chastised for his crime although three years have been past.
People said that murder is an unacceptable act and one of the most monstrous from of crime. They said that delaying the punishment is giving courage to the terrorists.
Salman Taseer was the serving Governor of Punjab when he was gunned down by his guard on January 4 2011.
Salman Taseer’s assassin was a man called Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, reportedly a member of Dawat-e-Islami, who shot Taseer dead because of his opposition to the blasphemy law.
