RAWALPINDI: As the police investigation goes underway, more evidences have been collected including the fingerprints of three separate individuals and a bloodstained kurta from the murder scene of Maulana Samiul Haq.

Sources informed that the kurta, with blood stains, which was found hanging in the bathroom has been sent to the laboratory and the police is awaiting its forensic report.

Also, the investigators believe that the fingerprints collected from the room will help trace the number of persons who were present at the crime spot.

Moreover, hair of three lengths, the bed sheet with blood on it and three glasses were also collected from the spot and sent to a forensic laboratory for DNA testing.

Nearly, 25 different samples collected from the scene of the murder so far, have been sent to the laboratory.

Four individuals, who had been recently in contact with Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam-Sami slain chief, had been questioned as a part of the probe into the assassination of the religious leader.

According to sources, the four people had been in contact with the slain JUI-S chief in the weeks before he was killed

The police officials have searched the gardens of neighbouring houses and the surrounding hilly areas to trace the murder weapon and other evidence which may help identify the killer.

The medical examination report, from the private hospital where Maulana Samiul Haq was taken and declared dead, has also been obtained by the police.

Surprisingly, no one has been accused in the FIR lodged with Airport police regarding the murder by the complainant. This is contrary to normal practice, as several people are usually nominated in murder cases.
