Govt fully committed to transform police into people-friendly dept: Bukhari
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Punjab Syed Samsam Bukhari has said the provincial government will soon introduce reforms in the police department and the local government system, aimed at bringing positive change in lives of the people.
In a TV interview, Bukhari said it was important that through legislation village councils were developed into vibrant institutions that resolve day to day problems of citizens.
He stated that the government was fully committed to transform police into a people friendly department, he stressed.
He said if Nawaz Sharif wanted to go abroad for his treatment, then court would have to take decision on this matter, however the government would not put his name in Exit Control List (ECL).
He was one of those persons who said that Bilawal should be allowed to meet Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail, he added.
He said charter of democracy signed between parties was not for committing corruption but it was for promoting betterment of the people.
