Sana stars in Pakistan triumph against Sri Lanka

Pakistan women batted first in the match and put on board a modest total of 138-9 on board. Had the skipper Sana not scored 34 off 79 balls, the team might not even be able to cross 100-run mark. Nain Abidi supported the skipper well scoring 29 runs. Sugandika Kumari captured three wickets.

In response, Sri Lanka fell shorts of only thirteen runs, chasing a target of 139 runs, losing all of their wickets in 45.1 overs. MADD Surangika put stiff resistance scoring 38 runs but none of her teammates could score significantly – thanks to Sadia Yousuf and Bismah Maroof for bowling lethally and sharing six wickets equally between them. Sana also took two wickets.

Pakistan has sealed the series after winning both the first two matches of the three-match series. In the first match, Pakistan recorded a convincing five-wicket win. The two team will against clash in a dead rubber on January 13.
