LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has termed the statement of MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Army as unconstitutional and unethical, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
Altaf Hussain, during his speech on 30th foundation day of MQM on Tuesday, had said the army must rebel against the rulers if they adopt measures undermining national security.
State Minister for Interior Baleeghur Rehman said a person believing in constitution could not issue such [rebellious] statement.
Meanwhile, a resolution was also tabled in the Punjab Assembly, condemning the provocative speech of MQM chief.
The resolution was submitted by opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, Mehmoodur Rasheed.
It demanded the government of Pakistan to take notice of Altaf’s statement.
