LAHORE: Former Punjab Law minister Rana Sanaullah said on Monday that the decision to remove barriers outside Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahir-ul-Qadri’s residence was taken in a law and order meeting, ARY News reported.
While recording his statement before Judicial commission formed to probe Model Town incident, he said that a law and order session was called before Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s march which decided that the barriers around Minhaj-ul-Quran secretariat should be removed.
Sanaullah maintained that participants of operation informed him that everything would be brought under control and it was till 1 PM when firing started.
Meanwhile, former principal secretary Tauqeer Shah, in his statement said that former law minister ordered the police to step back. He too maintained that the encroachments were being peacefully removed when accidentally things went out of control.
CCPO Lahore recorded his in-camera written statement, his appeal to do it in-camera was earlier granted by the commission.
It must be noted that a large number of PML-N workers was present outside High Court to receive him and their hullabaloo damaged many flower pots there.
