KARACHI: The team of ARY News program Sar-e-Aam, hosted by Syed Iqrar-ul-Hassan, will launch a campaign "Ab Kuch Karna Paray Ga" to protect the sanctity of the grave of founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Saturday 8th March 2014 at 06:00 p.m at Mazar-e-Quaid here in Karachi, ARY News reports.
Syed Iqrar-ul-Hassan, in his program Sar-e-Aam on 22nd February 2014, had exposed that the main burial room of Quaid-e-Azam was "rented" to couples by the administration of the mausoleum.
The police had arrested Abdul Rasheed, Kamran and Muhammad Rashid after a case was filed against the accused persons on the grounds of Taqadus-e-Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Act, 1976 at the Brigade Police Station by resident engineer named Arif.
The court had freed the accused persons after defence lawyer Javaid Ahmed Chhatari had argued in the court that the Mazar-e-Quaid was heavily monitored by security forces and such activity cannot take place under tight security measures. He accused the engineer from hiding the facts and filing the case on someone else's behalf.
After the court's decision, Sar-e-Aam host Syed Iqrar-ul-Hassan has announced to launch a campaign for the preservation of the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid. In an announcement, the popular anchorperson of ARY News has called all the citizens of Pakistan to come forward and play their role by joining his campaign "Ab Kuch Karna Paray Ga" to protect the sanctity of the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan.
