SBP issues fresh notes worth Rs.87bn for general public

ISLAMABAD: The central bank of Pakistan has been disbursed fresh currency notes worth Rs.87 billion till July 22 to commercial banks for distribution to the general public, ARY News reported.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to keep on facilitating general public by issuing fresh currency notes to during the month of Ramadan through counters of field offices of SBP BSC till last working day of Ramazan.

According to the arrangements made by SBP, each person will be given three packets of Rs.10 notes and one packet each of Rs.20, Rs.50 and Rs.100 of fresh notes against exchange value subject to production of their original CNIC / smart card only at the counter.

Besides, per person quota from 150 designated branches of commercial banks has also been increased to 2 packets each of Rs 10 and Rs 20 and one packet each of Rs 50 and Rs 100.
