SBP loud another awakening call to make conversion of decimal coins

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) loud another reminder for the general public to make conversion of decimal coins of paisa 1,2,5,10,25 and 50 till September 30, 2014, ARY News reported.

According to the statement issued by SBP, the decimal coins can be exchanged from the field offices of SBP's Banking Services Corporation (BSC) and Commercial / Microfinance banks' branches up to the above deadline.

In the bid of awareness of public, SBP has directed the Commercial /Microfinance Banks to display posters at visible places of their branches for exchange of decimal coins.

Earlier, the Federal Government has announced that coins of paisa 1,2,5,10,25 and 50 will cease to be legal tender on October 1, 2014. However, it can be exchanged from the field offices of SBP BSC and branches of banks till September 30, 2014.
