SBP says country’s liquid foreign reserves stand at $20,709.3mn

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as follows:

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 15,719.3

ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : US$    4,990.0

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 20,709.3  million

During the week ending on December 11, SBP’s liquid FX reserves increased by US$278 million to US$15,719 million, compared to US$15,441 million in the previous week.

The increase in reserves is attributed to receipts of US$300 million on account of long-term syndicated financing for Government of Pakistan.
