ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday announced the verdict in Employees Old-age Benefit Institution (EOBI) scam case, ARY News reported.
The SC declared all the 238 illegal appointments in the EOBI null and void.
Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali announced the verdict during the case hearing.
As many as 238 appointments out of total 400 made by the former EOBI chairman have been declared null and void
The court observed that the son-in-law of former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Azeem-ul-Haq, was also appointed in contravention of legal rules and procedure.
The SC also ordered the National Accountability Bureau to probe the illegal appointments in the EOBI.
The court ruled that all subsequent appointments in the organisation be made on merit.
