ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court has left the decision on government regarding the appointment of PCB chairman suggesting that issues of respectable institution like Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should not be raised in courts, ARY News reported.
An appeal was filed against the reinstating of Zaka Ashraf as the chairman of PCB in the Supreme Court.
The division bench comprising Justice Mian Saqib and Justice Aijaz Afzal Khan heard the case.
From government’s side Asma Jehangir presenting the evidences conceded that government has the authority to appointment Chairman PCB.
Justice Saqib Nisar advised that as mentioned that government has the right to appoint chairman PCB so it is better that matter should be resolved from government’s end.
“The decisions through court would affect the reputation of institute. Cricket is not only a sport but it also presents the safe image of the country”, he suggested.
The next hearing of the case will be conducted on Friday (January 31).
