SC orders taking back Karachi lands from land grabbers in six months

KARACHI: Supreme Court has ordered taking back the possession of the government lands from the land grabbers in Karachi within six months, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

A bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani hearing Karachi law and order case at Karachi Registry today.

Member Revenue Board Zulfiqar Shah today informed the court that 59803 acres of the government land in Karachi has been in illegal possession, while 2864 acres have been taken back from the land grabbers.

The bench ordered the authorities to take  back the possession of the government lands from land grabbers within six months period.

The bench also summoned the Chairman of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Managing Director Malir Development Authority (MDA) in the court immediately.
