LAHORE: A petition seeking formation of a parliamentary committee to probe the allegations of alleged wife of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif – Ayesha Ahad – was filed in the Supreme Court’s Lahore registry.

The petition pleads with the court to issue directives for Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Speaker of the National Assembly to constitute a committee to conduct transparent probe into Ayesha’s allegations.

In the petition, it was stated that Ayesha Ahad levelled serious allegations of harassment,  physical torture and receiving life threats from Hamza.

It said Hamza, an MNA and son of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, should be disqualified for not being honest and truthful for concealing his alleged marriage with Ayesha.

The petition calls for investigation against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif with regard to her allegations.

Ayesha Ahad, a lady who claims to be the disowned wife of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, has been claiming since long that Hamza married her back in 2010.

In a press conference on last Saturday, she demanded formation of a parliamentary committee to probe her allegations against Hamza.

She lamented that the incumbent PM formed a parliamentary committee to launch a probe into MNA Ayesha Gulalai’s allegations but no committee or inquiry was set up for probe into her allegations.
