SC suspends IHC order on restricting Lucman from TV show

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday suspended the Islamabad High Court order, restricting Mubashir Lucman from participating in any TV program as a host, ARY News reported.

A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk issued the orders. Mubashir Lucman can now host a program on ARY News following the SC verdict.

The SC termed that order of Justice Shaukat Aziz of IHC in contravention of Article 18 and 19.

Counsel of Lucman said the ban on his client was against the basic human rights principles. The rights granted to individuals in constitution cannot be snatched without hearing the party concerned, he added.

Speaking to media outside the SC, Lucman said it is now proved that judgment, not judges, spoke.

He announced that he would make a shocking revelation in his program ‘Khara Sach’ today at ARY New at 10.05 pm.

The IHC on June 10 had put a restriction on ARY anchorperson Mubashir Lucman from conducting any programmes. IHC’s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the case against Lucman on a petition filed by the Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation.
