ISLAMABAD:  Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday put his weight behind television anchor Shahid Masood’s claim of involvement of powerful people in the cases of children’s rape-slay that took place in Kasur.

“After the arrest of (suspect) Imran Ali in the Zainab case, a tale of a well-connected operation of child pornography, abuse and murder is unravelling as he (the suspect) is found to have numerous bank accounts. Clearly the scale of these crimes against our innocent children shows involvement of powerful people,” he wrote on his social media account.

It is apropos to mention the Supreme Court has ordered a six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the revelations under light of evidences provided by Shahid Masood against Imran Ali.

In his show, Masood had claimed that Zainab’s murderer was member of a network involved in child pornography production. He alleged that influential people and a minister in Punjab have been supporting the network.

The PTI chief demanded to assemble a JIT of experienced and credible investigators to expose the ring behind the grisly felony.

“A strong JIT must investigate this thoroughly including the Kasur child pornography case which Rana Sanaullah shamefully dismissed as a land dispute,” he said.

He also lambasted those who kicked up controversy through sensationalising the revelations against the suspect in Zainab murder case.

“Sad how controversy being created on whether or not Imran Ali had ‘accounts’. We need to desist from sensationalism and press for a credible JIT to fully investigate the horrific tragedy of little Zainab and the other child victims of Kasur,” he tweeted.
