MARACANA: Pakistan Street Child Football team has lost to Burundi in the semi-final of at Street Child World Cup (SCWC) Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday, ARY News reported.
The match has witnessed a close competition between the two as both the teams played brilliantly.
The first goal was scored by Burundi within the first few minutes. But Pakistani boys leveled the scores soon.
Pakistan posted two more goal before halftime to double their lead ending the first half 3-1.
However, Burundi bounced back strongly in the second half immediately scoring a goal in the second half.
Both sides played some attacking football but it was Burundi who came away with the most of it, scoring twice in two minutes to lead 4-3.
The victory makes Burundi through to the final, where they will face Tanzania.
The Pakistan Street Child football had team entered in the semi-finals of the the event after defeating the Philippines in a penalty shootout. The match was tied at 1-1 at full-time and the Pakistani kids broke the deadlock in their favour by scoring three goals in the penalty shoot-out as against the Philippines's two.
Earlier, Pakistani team opened their World Cup campaign in style by defeating defending champions India 13-0 in their opening match followed with the victory over Kenya 2-0 in the second match.
