Talking to media men here, the minister told terrorists are entering Peshawar from Fata areas. No worship place is secure from terrorists, he added.
The minister said security forces have cleared the mosque and search operation has been completed in the area. A suicide jacket recovered from mosque has been defused, he added.
At least 19 people were killed and over 45 injured in the blast.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack. He directed the authorities to provide the best medical care to the injured.
He said the government is determined to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has strongly condemned terrorist attack in Peshawar. In a statement, he said such nefarious activities cannot weaken resolve of the nation to fight terror.
