Security forces arrest over 150 in combing operations across Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Security forces arrested over 150 persons in combing operations across the country, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a Lashkar-e-Jhangvi activist Khalil alias Jalil in a raid near Sukkur Bus Terminal. He is said to be involved in terror activities in Balochistan.

Law enforcement agencies arrested 22 Afghan nationals from different areas of Sanghar and Khairpur districts of Sindh and recovered foreign currency.

Karachi Police arrested two terror suspects identified as Sahibzada and Usman during an operation in SITE area.

Police stated that the arrested suspects belong to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan – Yasir Swati Group.

Law enforcement agencies arrested 13 persons, including five Afghan nationals that were staying in the country illegally, from Saeedabad and Sharifabad areas of the metropolis.

Meanwhile, the counter terrorism department nabbed three men from Lahore and recovered explosive material, detonator and bomb making equipment in the raid.

Police arrested seven suspected persons from different parts of Attock.

Security forces arrested 137 suspects in combing operations in Hafizabad and Lodhran districts of Punjab. Illegal weapons were seized from the arrested men.

It should be noted that security forces have stepped up countrywide operations against terrorists and criminal elements after a surge in terror incidents, which claimed several lives.
