Security forces thwart terror attacks at Samungli, Khalid Airbases

QUETTA: Security forces gunned down ten terrorists and arrested two others after they tried to attack Samungli and Khalid Airbases of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Quetta on late Thursday night, ARY News reports.

According to a spokesman of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), security forces engaged the terrorists, who were trying to enter the airbase.

Heavy contingent of Police was called after an intense gunfight erupted between the terrorists and the security personnel. The terrorists fired seven rockets due to which a vehicle of the security force was destroyed.

Balochistan police chief has said that 11 security personnel were injured during the operation that lasted for more than four hours. All injured were being treated at a hospital in Quetta cantonment.

Eleven rockets were recovered from the Khalid airbase while a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the Samungli airbase, police sources said.

Home Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti has said that four rockets were recovered from a vehicle.

According to latest information, the airbases was cleared from terrorists after thorough search operation.
