Security guard loses life fighting with dacoits with empty gun

FAISALABAD: It emerged on Friday that the security guard, who was shot dead in a fighting with robbers yesternight at a shop in Faisalabad, was wielding an empty gun, ARY News reported.

As soon as muggers broke into the shop waving guns in their hands, the security guard, Nadir, wielded his shotgun as a baton and lunged into attack on them. This was apparently an unlikely reaction for the robbers who opened fire on the guard while fleeing away.

The victim was hit in upper torso. Later, it was revealed that the guard was posted on security of the shop with a gun having no round.

“Had my father had a single bullet in the gun, he would not have let the robbers flee. Plus, the gun was also not in a working condition,” said Nadir’s son exposing the private security company.

Family members of the victim are extremely aggrieved over the tragedy. While, police have conducted just routine investigation and even did not try to bother the security company over their failure to equip the guard with complete instruments for security.

The son quetched that no government official came to their house after the incident. The widow of Nadir demanded from authorities to provide them justice and assistance in the incident.
