Pakistan’s military launched an offensive codenamed Operation Zarb-i-Azb in militants infested North Waziristan tribal area last year to clear the region from the radicals; the region deemed as the nerve centre of the militancy in the country.
The militants attacked a checkpost of security forces in tehsil Datta Khel and killed a soldier.
The security forces in a counter attack killed five terrorists, sources said.
The forces have cordoned off the area after the incident and launched a search operation against the miscreants.
