Security threat: 30 hardened criminals shifted from Peshawar jail
PESHAWAR: At least 30 inmates were shifted from Peshawar Central Jail to Kohat and Hari Pur jails amid high security, ARY News reported Friday.
The shifting of prisoners took place in view of security threat on Peshawar jail. Government sources told that four of the prisoners were high-profile criminals and belonged to banned outfits.
The prisoners were taken to Bacha Khan Airport in armoured personnel carrier thence they were shifted to different jails via special helicopter.
Security has also been beefed up at the Peshawar Central Jail following threats of foul play.
