Home Department has issued a notification is this regard, stating that the ban on pillion riding to remain in effect till August 1 midnight.
Secretary Home Niaz Abbasi said the ban will be come into effect immediately. The step is taken following security threats ahead of the Eid, which might probably fall on July 29.
Sources informed that security agencies had asked the city administration to impose pillion riding ban to avert any untoward incident. There were reports of terror activity ahead of the holy festival, sources added.
