Senator Kamil Ali Agha, the chairman of the committee, took notice of the ban on the program ‘Live with Dr. Shahid Masood’ for 45 days, and issued the summons to receive justification from them.
The committee has also asked whether the Pemra had issued a notice to Dr. Shahid Masood before imposing the ban, or else it would be considered a fundamental violation of the freedom of speech and expression.
The committee will also decide about the violations of merit which have been alleged in the appointment of Absar Alam as the chairman of Pemra. The session will be held on 22nd August.
