Senate: Interior Ministry states total number of Missing Persons Cases

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has submitted its written answer in the Senate regarding the Missing Persons Cases, stating that some 1428 cases have been registered countrywide – ARY News reports.

According to the Interior Ministry statement, 304 cases about missing people have been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, 14 in the Lahore High Court (LHC), 101 in Peshawar, 22 in Balochistan.

The Interior Ministry stated that according to the findings of the inquiry commission a total of 813 people have been found missing, among them the highest are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 369 people. Missing people in Sindh are 169, 165 in Punjab, whereas in Balochistan 71.

It was further stated that 17 missing persons are from Islamabad, 21 from FATA and 10 from Azad Kashmir.

A similar case was also registered in Gilgit.

According to the Ministry of Interior, 12 mutilated bodies have been found from Islamabad since 2001.
