Senate body gives police three weeks to investigate Havelian minor girl’s rape

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Interior on Friday gave police a time of three weeks for investigation into rape and murder of a minor girl in Havelian, ARY News reported.

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Abdul Rehman Malik reprimanded police for delay in the case.

Police said they suspected that some close relative was involved in the incident. They said DNA test of all those who attended the wedding ceremony had been conducted.

Police said they also conducted a search operation in nearby buildings.

The Senate committee directed police to seek Google’s assistance for video footage of the incident.

Police apprised the Senate body that local SHO and DSP had been replaced.

In December last year, a minor girl had been raped and murdered in Havelian area of Abbotabad district.

According to police officials, 3-year-old girl, Faryal had gone out of her home to play with other children and went missing. They had said her dead body was found in an isolated place two days after her gone missing on Wednesday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister had taken notice of the rape-slay incident and directed for immediate arrest of the criminals. He had directed the DIG Hazara Division to submit a report in the incident.
