KARACHI: Additional inspector general Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has said the fallout of military operation in North Waziristan might possibly be seen in Karachi, ARY News reported.

He said the intelligence agencies had given information about possible foul play in Karachi. During a meeting with traders of SITE Association and Industries, the Karachi police chief said police were ready to cope with any untoward situation in Karachi.

He regretted that criminals were not punished in the country. Unfortunately, a criminal given punishment by the president was also not implemented here, he said.

The AIG said operation in Karachi would continue until complete peace was restored in the city. He claimed that targeted killing saw a decline this month.

He added that cases of extortion and street crimes were also declined by 60 percent. He told that four criminals involved in sectarian killings were also arrested. He said 80 policemen had been martyred so far this year in the line of duty.
