LAHORE: Ameer of Jamat e Islami (JI), Syed Munawwar Hassan while criticizing the sacking of Zaka Ashraf, has said that the appointment of Najam Sethi as the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has reinforced the notion about him of planting '35 punctures' – ARY News reports.

In a statement issued from Mansoora on Wednesday, the JI Ameer urged the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to sacrifice the game over politics.

He added that the PM in a non-democratic manner, appointed such a person as Chairman PCB, who is considered to be a supporter of 'Big-3'.

Munawwar Hassan said that earlier the rulers had made politics a game, now they have made game a tool of politics.

He mentioned that the court had restored Zaka Ashraf, but Nawaz Sharif suspended the constitution of the PCB and imposed a cricket emergency only to replace Ashraf.

The JI Ameer continued further, saying that Sethi's appointment as Chairman PCB affirms the notion of planting '35 punctures', PM's position does not allow him to send anyone back home and set whosoever at a post as per his own desires.

He added that such decisions will harm the cricket irreparably, whilst experts will be replaced by one's blind supporters.

Munawwar urged the Prime Minister to let the game remain as a game, not to sacrifice it on politics.
