MIAN CHANNU: Seven people were killed and more than 50 got injured due to the roof collapse of a Madrasa located in Rehmat Colony of Mian Channu on Sunday, ARY News reported.
According to sources, Qul Khawani of late Maulana Rubnawaz was in progress inside Hussain Ibn-e-Ali Mosque when the roof collapsed, residents of the area initiated the rescue work soon pulling the people out of the rubble but soon rescue sources reached the scene.
Rescue sources shifted the injured to THQ hospital for medical treatment from where five of them were transferred to Nishtar Hospital Multan in precarious condition. Rescue officials feared that death toll may rise as many of them were severely injured.
Women and children also present at the rooftop of the mosque and were reciting the Holy Quran at the time of incident.
