Seven major generals promoted; Rawalpindi, Multan Corps Commanders appointed

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army’s selection board has promoted seven major generals to the rank of lieutenant general.

According to ISPR, the officers recommended for promotion to the rank of lieutenant general held the following ranks:

Major General Nadeem Raza, he is presently Commandant Pakistan Military Academy.

Major General Humayun Aziz, he is presently Director General Welfare and Rehabilitation at General Headquarters.

Major General Naeem Ashraf, he is presently posted at National Defence University in Islamabad.

Major General Muhammad Afzal, he is presently Director General Frontier Works Organisation

Major General Sher Afgun, he is presently Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan

Major General Qazi Ikram, he is presently Director General Personnel Directorate at General Headquarters

Major General Bilal Akbar, he is presently Director General Rangers (Sindh)

Corps Commanders in Rawalpindi, Multan appointed 

Lt. General Nadeem Raza has been posted as Commander of Corp X in Rawalpindi. The position was vacant after General Qammar Javed Bajwa was appointed as the Chief of Army Staff.

Lt. General Humayun Aziz has been appointed Director General Joint Staff at JSHQ.

Lt. Gen Sarfraz Sattar has posted as Commander of Corps 2 in Multan. The post was vacant after Lt. General Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmed retired after the appointment of Gen. Bajwa.

The appointments were crucial deisions after Gen. Bajwa took over as Army Chief. Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza was on Wednesday named as the commander of Corps V in Karachi.
