PESHAWAR: Newly appointed Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman on Wednesday tendered his resignation from the provincial assembly seat, PK-70, as he is set to take oath of his new office today.

The PTI leader submitted his resignation to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly secretariat.

He will replace former KP governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra who stepped down from the post on August 17.

In the July 25 election, Farman won the PK-70 and PK-71 Peshawar constituencies. He eventually lost the PK-71 seat after a vote recount to Awami National Party’s (ANP) Khushdil Khan.

Farman served as the provincial information minister in the previous PTI government of chief minister Pervez Khattak.
