FM Qureshi to embark on four-day visit to Japan from Sunday
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will embark on a four-day visit to Japan from April 21 (Sunday), Radio Pakistan reported on Friday.
During the visit, Qureshi will hold wide ranging talks with his Japanese counterpart and other dignitaries.
Apart from interacting with the Pakistani community and leading media houses in Japan, the FM will also interact with Japanese intellectuals, academicians and business persons at the Japan Institute of International Affairs.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal, in a statement today, said Pakistan and Japan enjoy a longstanding, friendly and cooperative relationship.
He said the foreign minister’s visit will help further deepen our friendly ties and advance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields.
It may be recalled that, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had cancelled his scheduled visit of Japan amid recent escalation with India.
Qureshi had to visit Japan from February 24 to 27 to hold a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Japan over international issues, including the bilateral relations.
Japan is a key economic partner of Pakistan and has made important contribution in supporting Pakistan’s development efforts over the years.
