LAHORE: Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, has laid the foundation of a Command and Control System worth Rs 47 crore here on Friday, ARY News reports.
While addressing the ceremony, Shahbaz Sharif said that three thousand cameras will be placed in 700 areas of the city and the system will be operational within a year.
The latest Command and Control System will also help in controlling street crimes, he added.
The Chief Minister said that steps are being taken to further improve the performance of Punjab Police.
Speaking on a five year old girl rape case, he said that it was obvious that the Police has failed to apprehend the culprits behind the crime.
Officials of the Punjab Police and Civil Bureaucracy were also present on this occasion.
