Shamitabh reviews make Big B jubilant

TOP NEWS

His new film released this Friday and has received praises from critics on its unique subject matter. Shamitabh stars Amitabh as a failed Bollywood actor who lends his voice to a talented-yet-mute aspiring actor, played by Dhanush. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of legendary actor Kamal Hasaan’s daughter Ashkara Hasaan, who plays the role of an assistant director that acknowledges the mute actor’s talent. The film is directed by R. Balki and has reportedly minted Rs.8.25 crores on its first two days at the box office.

It wasn’t the film’s financial success that enthralled Big B though, it were the filmr reviews that satisfied him a great deal. Famous film critic and journalist Subhash K. Jha gave the film 5 stars out of 5 and stated ” Nothing prepares you for the astonishing Shamitabh. It’s absolutely original plot and spellbinding aesthetics make compulsive viewing.”

“Reading the reviews on SHAMITABH gives credence to the film, the thought and the performance…and that is most gratifying for the artiste…many varied colors are painted, but what remains without any doubt is the effort and the execution of that which has been elusive, for most,” Amitabh wrote on his official blog.

This is not the first time that R.Balki and the versatile Bollywood star have worked together. Cheeni Kum and Paa were also directions of R.Balki in which Amitabh starred. In Cheeni Kum Amitabh played a sixty-four year old self-centered chef who falls in love with a thirty-four year old woman, played by Tabu. In Paa, he starred alongside his son Abishek Bachchan and actress Vidya Balan.

Film critics and fans have both given their verdict on Shamitabh; there’s no reason why you shouldn’t watch the film and get entertained thoroughly!
