Sharjeel concerned over electricity arrears in Sindh
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has expressed his reservations over outstanding amounts in electric bills of different departments, ARY News reported.
In a meeting on Tuesday evening, Sharjeel ordered all departments including local government officials to file a report with secretary local government and secretary energy regarding electrical appliances and meters in government departments.
He said all officers should form committees to resolve issues regarding electricity dues. “Excessive use of power and illegal connections should be disconnected forthwith,” he told the meeting.
Provincial adviser on finance Murad Ali Shah said the provincial government was sincere in paying outstanding dues to K-Electric and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company.
