Sharjeel instructs city authorities to step up rain relief efforts

KARACHI: Sindh’s Information and Local Bodies Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon toured different parts of Karachi to survey the ravages of rainfall in the city, ARY News reports.

He instructed Managing Director of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), all district administrators and municipal commissioners to address the problems and emergency situations caused by the rains.

Sharjeel Memon said that drainage of the rainwater will be ensured in the city and water pumps will be used  to discharge the stagnant water. He also said that pumps will be connected to a generator in areas where there is no electricity.

It should be noted that at least five people were killed in different rain related incidents in Karachi.
