Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy did it once and sure as hell she can do it again! After her 2012 win for Saving Face, the Pakistani filmmaker looks set to make history by becoming the only Pakistani with not one but two Oscar victories, as her documentary A Girl In The River: The Price of Forgiveness (2015) has been nominated for an Oscar for the 88th Academy Awards.
For this very purpose, Sharmeen was in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton where all nominees for the 88th Academy Awards had gathered. Sharmeen, who already has posed with famous personalities such as Meryl Streep and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, wasted no time in meeting some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Here are some snaps from the auspicious luncheon:-
Sharmeen had not qualms posing with probably the most dangerous man on the silver screen, Matt Damon, who is famous for playing the action hero Jason Bourne.
She also mingled with Mark Ruffalo and took a snap, with a wide grin on her face. It’s a good thing the Hulk is not angry but seemingly jovial in Miss Chinoy’s company…
Who hasn’t heard of Steven Speilberg? Well, Sharmeen also had and made it a point to click a picture with him and upload it on her Instagram account.
Here she can be seen with Pokerface singer Lady Gaga.
Let’s hope Sharmeen bags another Oscar for Pakistan and continues to put the country on the world map, for all the right reasons!
