TOP NEWS

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday (today) accepted the plea made by former President and Army Chief of Pakistan Pervez Mushrraf to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL), ARY News reports.

Hearing of the plea is expected sometime today.

The petition was filed by Musharraf's counsel Barrister Farogh Naseem earlier today.

Speaking to media outside SHC, Barrister Farogh Naseem said that his client's name cannot be included in the ECL as he is under-trial.

Answering a question, the defence lawyer said that Musharraf is out on bail in all of his cases and the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has not issued any orders to place his name in ECL.

He added that the decisions of 8th April 2013 and 2nd April 2014 have been challenged in the petition.

"Musharraf's name was included in the ECL on the orders of Interior Ministry", Naseem said.
