SHC hears Musharraf's ECL plea
KARACHI: A bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday heard the petition of former president Pervez Musharraf seeking removal of his name from the exit control list (ECL), ARY News reported.
Musharraf's counsel Barrister Farogh Naseem argued before the bench that after the final decision of the Supreme Court the court's earlier interim order has no value. He further argued that only a trial court could order about keeping the name of a person in the ECL.
Attorney General Afzal Suleman Butt in his argumenst raised the issue of the jurisdiction of the court and said that the bench should first decide whether the matter comes in its jurisdiction or not.
The court after hearing the arguments of the lawyers adjourned the hearing till May 20.
