KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday vowed to bring back prosperity and development to Karachi if people vote his party into power, ARY News reported.

Speaking to party workers and supporters during his daylong visit to Karachi, Sharif said that his party can again make Karachi a prosperous city, “free of garbage” and with an efficient transport system like Lahore.

“If people will vote for us, we will resolve the water crisis on war footing and every home in Karachi will get adequate water supply,” said the PML-N president.

Shehbaz soon turned his guns on province’s ruling party, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and said that their slogan is ‘Marsoon Marsoon Sindh Na Deson‘ (Will die but will not give up Sindh) but in reality, they believe in ‘Marsoon Marsoon Kam Na Karsoon’ (Will die but not work). He later tweeted the same.

Shehbaz Sharif, without naming PPP, said that the provincial government took billions to develop Larkana but did nothing to develop “Bhutto’s city” despite getting votes in their party’s late founder’s name.

He showered praise on his brother Nawaz Sharif for giving ‘Green Bus Project’ to Karachi but also promised to start two similar public transport projects if voted to power in upcoming polls.

Later, on his return to Lahore, Shehbaz Sharif tweeted that he got an amazingly receptive response when he said that his party will turn Karachi into another Lahore, if voted to power in the upcoming polls, adding that Karachi is looking for sincere & honest leadership that can restore the greatness of this mega city.
