ISLAMABAD: PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif, while reacting to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruling that ordered release of the incarcerated members of the Sharif family on bail, said they have finally gotten justice from the court.

Speaking to ARY News, he said they will furnish surety bonds today to secure release of his elder brother Nawaz Sharif, niece Maryam Nawaz, and her spouse Captain (retd) Safdar.

Shehbaz said justice prevailed with the high court verdict.

Following the ruling, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly tweeted a Quranic verse.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) today suspended the conviction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield properties case.

A division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb suspended their sentence through a short verdict.

The bench ordered release of the incarcerated members of the Sharif family against a surety of Rs500, 000 each.

This verdict came on petitions filed by Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and her spouse seeking suspension of the Avenfield verdict until a final decision on their appeals against the sentence.
