KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-South Africa (MQM-SA) has become a symbol of terrorism as Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Shehla Reza and Saeed Ghani have received life threats from the faction of the MQM, ARY News reported.

On recommendation of the law enforcement agencies, the Sindh Home Department has issued a security alert in this regard.

Sources said the Home Department has directed to provide Shehla Reza and Saeed Ghani fool-proof security.

Both the PPP leaders have been barred from doing any unnecessary activity, said sources.

Raza and Saeed Ghani have received copies of the security alert.

In Sept 2016, in a heated debate, leader of MQM Salman Mujahid Baloch had threatened Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s leader Murad Saeed that he will silence Murad if he did not stop speaking against MQM.

During ARY News program Sawal Yeh Hai hosted by Maria Memon, Salman Mujahid had accused that police officer who fined Murad Saeed’s father was suspended, which was denied by Murad.

The PTI leader had said some MQM leaders were still defending founder of MQM Altaf Hussain, who was involved in treason.

Murad Saeed had asked Salman Mujahid to raise slogan “whomsoever was friend with Altaf Hussain, he was a traitor”.

“Don’t get scared Mr Salman. Take courage. Buck up. Speak up,” he had said.
