Shehzad fined for pushing Dilshan

SHARJAH: International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad with 50 percent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct in the third ODI against Sri Lanka, played on Sunday at Sharjah, ARY News reported.

Ahmed Shehzad messed up with Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan during the match in the nineteenth over and pushed Dilshan back. Shahid Afridi interrupted the hot debate between the two solving the issue.

On the complain of on-field umpires, (ICC) looked the matter and declared Shehzad pleaded guilty to the offence.

According to the statement issued by ICC, "The opener was found to have breached Article 2.2.4 of the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to 'inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between Players in the course of play during an international match.”
