ISLAMABAD Pakistani singer and social worker Shehzad Roy will be awarded his second Sitara-e-Imtiaz today (March 23).
He made this announcement via twitter ;
I will be honored with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz tomorrow in Islamabad. I know of so many unsung heros who may never be publicly recognised but they work everyday to reform our society. I dedicate this award to their selfless dedication.

Sitara-e-Imtiaz is Pakistan’s third highest civilian honour and is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to help protect the Country’s security, or have made a storng impact in promoting world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours.
Roy is the president and founder of Zindagi Trust, a non-government charitable organisation, that primarliy works to establish the platfrom for quality education for every pakistani.
Previously Shehzad Roy had received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2005 for his organization’s undeniable work as they set up rehabilitaion centers after the 2005 kashimr earthquake.He had also been the recipent of Sitara-e-Eisaar in 2006.
Shehzad was aslo bestowwed the honor of being the torch bearer for the 2008 olympics.
