Shikarpur: Seven of a family gunned down over old dispute
SHIKARPUR: A long-standing dispute between two community folks ended up claiming lives of seven persons of a family in Shikarpur, ARY News reported Sunday.
The incident occurred on late Saturday when armed culprits gunned down seven of a family within the jurisdiction of Ghulam Shah Police Station.
According to police, the head of a deceased family, Hussain Baksh, was accused of killing a person from Marfani community 10 years ago. In view of constant threats, Baksh had moved to Tehsil Laki Ghulam Shah five years ago with his family.
However, a thirst of revenge with Marfani Community didn’t subside even in a decade and they attacked Baksh at his place late on Saturday night and sprayed all the family members with bullets when they were asleep.
The seven slain persons include 45-year-old Pannah (wife of Buksh), 18-year-old Abida, Nadeem, 30, Irshad, 14, Imamdin. While, sister of Baksh, Sakina, sustained injury in the firing.
The attackers easily managed to flee from the scene. After the incident, police reached the spot and helped shifting the bodies to a hospital. They also constituted two committees to arrest the culprits.
