Shiv Sena activists attack Pakistani band in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Activists of Hindu hard line group Shiv Sena tried to attack the Pakistani musical band Mekaal Hasan Band as they were performing at the Mumbai Press Club on Tuesday, ARY News reports.

They had raised flags of Shiv Sena and chanted slogans demanding to send the band back to Pakistan. Shiv Sena activists tried to barge in the press club to stop the band from performing in the country.

Shiv Sena activists said that they will not allow the Pakistani band to perform anywhere in the country.

It is not the first time that the Hindu radical party has stopped Pakistani musicians from performing in India. Ali Zafar was not allowed to sing in a musical event due to security concerns. In 2013, Mekaal Hassan Band's shows were cancelled in India due to the law and order situation.
