Shuja Khanzada murder: Key accused sent on 14-day physical remand

RAWALPINDI: A court in Rawalpindi on Tuesday sent a key accused in killing of Shuja Khanzada, former home minister Punjab, on a 14-day physical remand, ARY News reported.

The court also ordered handing over custody of the accused Qasim to Joint Investigation Team of the Counter Terrorism Department.

The accused was earlier today presented in a court amid heavy security of law enforcers.

Punjab home minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada was killed in a suicide attack on his political office in Shadi Khan village, Attock, Sunday, along with 16 others on August 17.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) had reportedly taken responsibility of the suicide attack on Khanzada. Khanzada was under threat following the killing of LeJ chief Malik Ishaq in July.
