TOP NEWS

KARACHI: Lawmakers in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday protested against unannounced load-shedding and demanded the provincial government to register their concern with the federal government, ARY News reported Tuesday.

The session, which was held under Deputy Speaker Syeda Shehla Raza in the chair, condemned prolonged power outages in the province.

MPAs including Nawaz Chandio of the PPP and Muhammad Hussain of the MQM demanded the Sindh government to register its protest with the federal government.

They also demanded Sindh’s due share of electricity and threatened to start protest movement if persisting load shedding was not relented.

Irfanullah Marwat of the PML-N suggested he would back the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah if he took out rally against loadshedding alike his Punjab’s counterpart.

The house members were so raged that it created ruckus in the assembly. Deputy speaker even threatened to adjourn the proceedings in an attempt to defuse tension.
